The Wearing of the Green

Dear Diary,

Mom says that today is a special day for the Irish.  I asked if she meant like the wolfhounds and the terriers and the setters.  And she said – well, yes, them too.  I asked if there were any Irish herding breeds.  She looked on-line but could not find any.  Does anyone know of such a breed?

She said I should wear green today.  This is the only green thing I have.  Most everything else is red.  She tells people that red is my favorite color – actually it’s her favorite.  It doesn’t really matter to me.   Dogs can see colors, but we don’t see them the same as people do. (This site has a good discussion about how dogs see color.)
